INTRODUCTION -- The Maryland Football State Record Book started as an offshoot of my original Tri-State area records, a project started in 1986, and is intended to recognize exceptional Maryland high school football performances and individual accomplishments from the past century.
It must be noted, however, that such an endeavor is not without error. Despite countless hours of research, repeated phone calls and mailings, several outstanding performances may have been overlooked and not included in this update. Also, due to the inexact science of high school sports statistics, some accomplishments may be lost forever. Every listing on this page has met preliminary verification standards, the same guidelines used for authenticity as the National High School Sports Record Book.
If you are aware of a performance that might qualify for the all-time Top 20 list (but not as the all-time best performance) in a certain category, use the link above to inquire about the listing.
The information in this listing is copyrighted by Prep Productions, and may not be used unless proper credit is given to Prep Productions or record book editor Sheldon Shealer.
The following is a list of state records. To obtain the complete, 36-page Maryland
