The following schools currently have open dates for the 2004 high school football season:


Allegany

Allegany is seeking a scrimmage opponent for Aug. 27 at Greenway Ave. Stadium in Cumberland. Contact assistant coach Tim Kane at 301-777-8110.


Archbishop Curley

Archbishop Curley, an MIAA B Conference school, is seeking an opponent for Week 2 (Sept. 10-11). Contact athletic director and football coach Sean Murphy at 410-485-5000 (W) or 410-838-1045 (H).


Bishop McNamara

Bishop McNamara, a member of the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference, is seeking an oppoent for Sept. 4. Contact athletic director Tony Johnson or head coach Bryce Bevil at 301-516-6132, ext. 103.


Bohemia Manor

Bohemia Manor is searching for two teams to complete a four-team preseason jamboree scheduled for Aug. 21 at Bohemia Manor. Wilmington (Del.) Charter is committed. Class 1A and 2A teams are invited. Broadfording

This small private school in Washington County, just west of Hagerstown, is starting a program this fall with 8th/9th graders. Broadfording is a co-ed school of 150 students, and is seeking freshmen teams as opponents. Broadfording can host games Thursday nights and Saturdays. In addition, Broadfording is interested in schools selling/donating equipment. The program needs tackling dummies, sleds, practice clothes, etc.


Calvert Hall

Dunbar

Joppatowne

La Plata

Loyola

McDonogh School

Maryland School for the Deaf

MSD has one open date for next season, Nov. 5. MSD is a small school located in Frederick. The team is also looking for an Aug. 16 scrimmage. Contact athletic director Scott Morrison through e-mail at morrissc@msd.edu


North Harford

North Harford, a Class 2A school located in Harford County, is seeking a home game for Week 5. The team is looking for a one-year contract to fill this open date. Contact coach Ken Brinkman at 410-638-3650.


Parkville

Parkville, a Class 4A school in Baltimore County, is seeking a scrimmage for either Aug. 27 or Aug. 28. Contact John Marquette or Ted Bell, athletic director, at 410-887-5257.


Perryville

Riverdale Baptist

Riverdale Baptist, an independent, small private school located in Prince George's County, is seeking games for the weekends of 9/10-11, 10/1-2, 10/8-9, 10/15-16 and 10/22-23. The Crusaders are seeking games against Class 1A and 2A-type schools. Sparrows Point

Wilde Lake

Wilde Lake, a Class 3A school in Howard County, is seeking an opponent for Week 4 of the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Wilde Lake wants to play at home on that date in 2004 and travel in 2005. Caravel Academy (Del.)

Caravel Academy, a Delaware Division II program, located in Bear, Del., just over the state line from Elkton, needs games for Oct. 29/30 and Nov. 5/6. Caravel is also attempting to start a preseason jamboree of 12 to 16 teams. Contact coach Mike Aruanno at 302-530-1217.

Mercersburg Academy (Pa.)

Mercersburg Academy is starting a junior varsity team this fall and is seeking games for Mondays between Sept. 25 and Oct. 25. Contact coach Dan Walker

Moorefield (W.Va.)

Moorefield, a West Virginia Class A team, has open dates on Sept. 10 and Oct. 15. Moorefield is willing to travel. Contact coach Alan Fiddler at 304-538-6034.


Newark (Del.)

Newark, a successful Delaware Division I program (DI enrollments 1,100+) is seeking a football game for the weekend of Sept. 10-11 of the 2004 season. Contact coach Darren Tyson at 302-454-2151, ext. 149.


New Enterprise (D.C.)
