Specialized Programs

Toddlers   (16 months to 2 1/2 years).      In this first transition from home to the outside world, the atmosphere is relaxed and nurturing.    Children are introduced to structure and the fundamentals of responsibility, cooperation, sharing, and following directions.    The use of language through words and gestures are encouraged as means of communicating wants, needs and feelings.

Preschool  (30 months to 4 years).      Self awareness and how the child responds to both peers and adults is an important emphasis with this age group.   Enhancing attention, long term and short term memory, fine motor, expressive language, visual and auditory discrimination are among the skills areas that are addressed using thematic content units.   Games, mimicry, pretend play, music and other forms of artistic expression are all the tools used in introducing basic concepts in arithmatic and absract reasoning.

PreKindergarden  (4 to 5 years).      The PreKindergarden program builds upon the skills, concepts and methods introduced in the preschool program.   While maintaining the positive self esteem and awareness of the child as guiding principles, reinforcing learning, knowing, and willingness to make an effort are major thrusts for this group.    Factual knowledge of number concepts, letter recognition and reproduction as well as general information on a wide range of topics and thematic content areas are taught.
