Dear Mr Feld
My name is Karima Lebdiri and I teach English in a secondary school near Paris. I am looking for penfriends for a group of pupils (10 aged: 13 and 14). We are working on multiculturalism in America and I think that it could be a good idea if we could work on this and we could think of a class project together (multiculturalism in Paris and New york). If you think that this kind of project may motivate your students, we could work together. I've got plenty of ideas but I need to know if you would like to work on that with me. I really hope that I will have an answer from you soon...

Hello!

Our school is in an old region of Roumania, namely Cotnari-Hodora. This region is mentioned in many documents of the Middle Ages. For instance, here, in this region, Stefan the Great, a hospodar of Moldavia (the East region of Roumania) halted many times and he enjoyed by good wine which make here.

The locality Hodora is in the North of the city Iassy and in the North-East of Roumania. In our school learn pupils with ages comprised between 3 and 14-15 years old.

We are looking for some partners for develop together a school cultural projects or any other projects.

See you!

Hello,
I am a teacher at a school in England.
I am setting up a project for a group of over 250 11 year old pupils, in order to help and encourage them to find out about schools and pupils around the world, in a much more personal way than just looking up information in an encyclopaedia.

This will involve them making e-mail contact with pupils in other countries and asking questions about the nature of the school, the environment and the community.

If you would like any of your pupils to be involved please could you send me contact e-mails which I can then pass on to my pupils. Or if you would like any more information about this project then please do not hesitate to contact me.

If I have not heard from you by the 21st June I will assume that you do not want to be involved.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.

I'm Antonella DIMITO a teacher of the "Liceo Scientifico G. Galilei" in Civitavecchia- Roma. I found your e-mail address on the website of The British Council (you can find mine on EU database :http//partbase.eupro.se) I'm in charge of organizing educational exchanges.
My school is involved in some projects of students- exchange (age 17-19) with European schools (Socrates-Comenius Language Project) and now I'd contact American schools for the project. I'd find an American partner school, choose a common subject and work on.
The project will end with the students exchange.

A first group of students (about 20 ) will be accomotated in host families with their collegues of the partner school (about two weeks) and attend the lessons at host school. After a period of 2-4 month viceversa. I think it is a good opportunity for the students to know the ways of life, people of another Country and so on. The students exchange could be the next school year. I hope to receive your replay.

Dear American colleagues!
We are a group of Ukrainian teachers. We are sending you our best wishes. We work at one of Kyiv high schools. The number of our school is 157. Our school is considered to be a pretty good one academically and rather progressive. After finishing our school many students consider receiving greater education and enter universities.

We have been very interested in finding the real partner abroad especially in the USA. Since Ukraine used to be part of the Soviet Union for several decades and had lived behind the "iron curtain" for a long time, we also have the feeling that our students and teachers lack knowledge about the history of your country, principles of democracy, politics and current events. We would like to learn from you, to exchange letters in English, try ourselves in different projects. The level of English of many students in our schools allows to do that. Many students have access to Internet and they keep friendship with their peers in the U.S.

In fact, this kind of work is not something new for us. Last year the 6-th grades of our school were exchanging letters with the 6-th grades from one of the schools in Abilene, Texas. There was an article in the local newspaper about that. That inception was arranged by an American Peace Corps volunteer, Margie Shuler. We consider ourselves fortunate to have been working together with Mrs. Margie Shuler for nearly two years. This has been a unique opportunity for all the students and teachers of our school. Communicating with her personally for us was almost the same as if interacting with the whole American society and Mrs. Margie is certainly one of its best representatives. We are very impressed by her personally. She taught our students American values such as self-respect, self-reliance self-improvement, a strong sense of duty, the willingness to give a helping hand to a neighbor and to make good things voluntarily and other good values. Her impact on our school life has been so huge that we continue doing things that she started . We have collected works of American writers, many films in English. Last year our team made of 5 and 11 forms won the city competition where we represented the U.S.A.

The purpose of this writing is to let you know that we are willing to participate in many kinds of projects and we are ready to cooperate !

With respect. The English teachers from Kyiv lyceum 157.

Dear Steve,

Thank you for your note. I would love to learn more about your projects and explore possible collaboration with you.

Thank you for posting the information about United Planet. In addition to the CAP initiative (Cultural Awareness Project), we are currently building new technology to make this program available throughout the United States. Please let me know if this program might interest you.

We will be launching another feature called the Voices of Earth community. This will have every country in the world listed, along with country maps, general country information, and a bulletin board for each country.

The bulletin board for each country will be the most exciting feature. It will allow the people of every country/culture in the world to share in their own voices about their customs/culture and for others to search by country, hear their voices and comment on their observations. We should have this launched with 7-10 days.

Thank you for your article.

Within the last five years, ThinkQuest has provided John F. Among these are: The Why is the Mona Lisa Smiling project allowed my students to work with peers in Borlange Sweden to produce a critical thinking resource which utilizes tools, methods and strategies. http://library.thinkquest.org/13681/data/davin2.shtml

Our collaboration with ArtsZone and the Miho Museum in Japan gave my students the opportunity to investigate museum design as function. http://library.thinkquest.org/13681/data/museum/trees.htm

The Mona Lisa website team identified and tracked artic explorers Ann Bancroft Liv Arnessen as 21st Century heros and were invited to attend their New York City Press Conference. http://wave.prohosting.com/artpower/links/anartica.htm
