Ms. Chu is a graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center. Ms. Chu is a member of the Maryland, California, Virginia, and District of Columbia Bars.

           Although Ms. Chu immigrated to the United States from Taiwan at the age of seven with her family, she speaks Mandarin fluently. She also reads and writes Chinese. Because she is a first-generation immigrant, Ms. Chu particularly is sympathetic to the legal concerns of her immigration clients. Moreover, Ms.Chu's fluency in English and Chinese has enabled her to resolve other non-immigration legal matters, including divorce, personal injury, and business disputes, for her clients.

           Ms. Chu writes a legal column for the popular Chinese newspaper, the Washington Chinese Times, each week. Her legal articles also are featured periodically in the World Journal, which is a daily Chinese newspaper. (See Newspaper Column)

           Ms. Chu practiced law and gained experience in civil litigation at well-known firms in Los Angeles, California, before she opened her own law office in Rockville, Maryland in August, 1994. Ms. Chu is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Maryland State Bar Association, the California State Bar Association, the Virginia State Bar Association, and the Montgomery County (Maryland) Bar Association.
