WELCOME ALL POTENTIAL SATURN
OWNERS!!
If you have come here in search of
information about a single person's experience with their Saturn SL1, well,
you have clicked on through to the
right site.
And a special welcome to current
Saturn owners! Remember, next time you buy a Saturn, this could be
you!
(As a disclaimer, I want to say that everything
that appears on these pages is completely true. It all happened to
Ryan and Kathleen O'Neil. If you want, you can mail
us for more information, or with your own experiences or advice.

My wife bought a 1995 Saturn SL1,
and 5,500 miles later, the problems started. Appalling? It
certainly is. Do you know what's more appalling? The problems
only started there and continue to this very day.
Here's a quick rundown of the problems
that we have had with our car:
-
The transmission leaked four different
times in the first 19,000 miles. It is still leaking. The dealers
told us that it didn't fall under Connecticut's Lemon Law because the problem
was slightly different each time. They were able, in effect, to take
advantage of first time car owners. Don't let this happen to you!
-
The head gasket cracked at less than
55,000 miles.
-
One Connecticut Saturn dealer was about
to give us a rental car since he was unable to find the problem.
Just as we were about to sign for the rental, he "found" the problem.
"A loose wire." Well, the car broke down just 15 hours later on our
way to Cincinnati.
-
The alternator was replaced twice within
a two week period. In the meantime, our battery died, which we had
to replace at our own expense.
-
Want to hear an actual message left
on our answering machine? You won't believe the wanton recklessness.
If the mechanic was a doctor, we would be able to sue for malpractice.

At the moment, we are in the process
of contacting the State of Connecticut's Department of Consumer Protection.
Check back here for updates on our progress. Along with sending a
copy of the pages that follow (with attached receipts) to them, we also
sent a copy to Dan Anderson, the Customer Service Team Leader. Feel
free to write Dan, either on our behalf, or your own.
(We were informed on September 2,
1997, that Dan Anderson no longer holds the position of Team Leader of
Customer Serive.)
