Each half of the habitat should have an area specifically for personal space. This double section is a standard sixteen (16) foot outside diameter with six (6) inch thick walls (fifteen (15) foot inside diameter). At the mid-line, including walls, wiring, vents and structures, which allow about eight (8) feet for a hall/room area. It is designed to convert (via stored tables and stools) to a social area and can be used for other tasks. The center can be used to view movies or used as a conference room. This is part of a living area that is normally isolated by pressure walls from the remainder of the craft.

The sleep rooms are small by necessity and designed with all the "creature comforts" of home. Each half can be designed to accommodate four (4) to six (6) people as required for a specific mission. This design is for six (6) people. Each sleeping compartment is approximately three (3) feet high by three (3) feet wide by six (6) feet long with a curtain covering the entry. There is a bed with a hinged upper portion for sitting up or laying down. It has a television with video capabilities, a radio, a craft intercom, emergency supplies, and a personal laptop computer terminal also used for remote emergency monitoring and control of the habitat. Videos from home and the latest movies can be downloaded any time and played during leisure hours. There is a supplemental locker, (3) feet high by three (3) feet deep by two (2) feet wide, associated with each room to store clothes and personal equipment.

This area will have radiation shielding to protect the habitants from radiation during solar flares. Air revitalization is located in the lower section of this area. This will allow minimizing life support requirements during short-term emergencies.

Technical data: The atmosphere is air standard content though less nitrogen is expected, temperature is 74 F and humidity is 50% typically, Lighting for reading = 30 lm/ft2, Hall/room lighting = 20 to 30 lm/ft2, 390 BTU/man-hr. for sleeping and light work.

See [Data] for the design calculations.
