12. Stephen Thomas3 Dutton (Stephen Coffin2, Thomas1) was born in Newburyport, Essex Co., Massachusetts 4 April 1803.(357) Stephen died 25 January 1873 probably in Portland, Cumberland Co., Maine, at age 69.(358) Listed on the 1870 Federal Census, living with his son Charles in Portland.

He married Sarah Stickney 6 October 1825 in Newbury, Essex Co., Massachusetts.(359) Sarah was born 17 June 1803 in Newbury, Essex Co., Massachusetts.(360) She was the daughter of Gen. Benjamin Stickney and Anna Poore. Stephen was born in the Belleview part of Newbury (now a part of Newburyport), He was a ship carpenter until about forty years old, and afterward a hotel keeper in Portland, and other places.

Stephen Thomas Dutton and Sarah Stickney had the following children:

• 24 i. Harriet4 Dutton was born probably in Newbury, Essex Co., Massachusetts 12 August 1826. Harriet died 25 March 1873 at age 46.

• + 25 ii. George Norton Dutton was born 28 February 1828.(361)

• 26 iii. Jane Wealthen Dutton(362) was born 28 March 1832. Jane died 28 April 1867 probably in Maine, at age 35. She married Henry Underhill 24 December 1862 in Portland, Cumberland Co., Maine.(363) Henry was born about 1825 probably in Maine.(364) Died without issue.

• 27 iv. Charles Edward Dutton(365) was born probably in Newburyport, Essex Co., Massachusetts 28 March 1838.(366) Charles died 12 September 1873 in Portland, Cumberland Co., Maine, at age 35.(367) He married Helen M. Robbins 16 August 1862 in Portland, Cumberland Co., Maine.(368) Helen was born about 1842 in Maine. Died without issue.
