1. Thomas1 Dutton was born possibly in Massachusetts in about 1745. Thomas died in November 1798 in Newburyport, Essex Co., Massachusetts, at age 53.(1) As recorded in the church records of the First Religious Society (Unitarian) of Newburyport, he died "aged 53."

He married twice. He married Anna Coffin 17 November 1767 in Seabrook, Rockingham Co., New Hampshire.(2) Rev. Sameul Perley's ledger book listed Thomas and Anna as being "of Newburyport."

Anna was born 2 October 1745 in Newbury, Essex Co., Massachusetts.(3) She was the daughter of Benjamin Coffin and Miriam Woodman. He married Elizabeth (Eliza) Robertson Ford 14 November 1793 in Newbury, Essex Co., Massachusetts.(4) Eliza was the widow of Christopher Campting Ford.

Elizabeth was born about 1751 in Londonderry, Rockingham Co.,NH.(5) She was the daughter of William Robertson and Margaret Woodend.

Thomas was the progenitor of this branch of the Dutton family. His birth records have so far not been found. It is very likely that he is a descendant of the John Dutton that is considered the first of the Massachusetts Dutton line.
