Money
In 2008, the registration fee is a sliding scale, pay what you can afford and you think the weekend is worth between $85 and $130. In addition. There are additional optional fees & discounts available.
A "sliding scale" means we provide an upper and lower bounds for the
registration fee, and participants pay an amount in that range that they feel they can afford
and they feel the weekend is worth. Yes, it's based on trust and could be abused, but the
leaders look at the checks as a regular part of organizing, and would notice and address egregious
abuse.
If someone drops out, we will refund their money if we can put someone
else in their spot. If there is a waiting list for registration - and there usually is - and
someone drops out 5 or more days before the trip, there's a good chance we'll be able to fill
the spot ... but there's no guarantee. If we can't fill the spot, we reserve the right to keep
the money to cover costs. Years we do well financially, we can provide some refund, but we
cannot promise this.
