Accommodations

    The houses we rent are vacation houses, so they're very comfortable and pleasant, and have nice amenities: almost all have a hot tub and some game table downstairs, like pool or foosball. The ones we get usually have a "master bedroom" upstairs - usually given to the den parents - two bedrooms on the middle floor, one or two downstairs, and a sleeper sofa in a common room downstairs. The beds are predominantly queens, so is more friendly to couples than singles, so we try to squeeze out as many spots for singles as we can.

    The registration form includes an option to list people with which a registrant would like to be in a house, and this is used to place people in houses. Rooms are then allocated based on when people registered, so people who registered earlier get the better rooms (except that the den parents get their choice of room).

    Most houses allow one or two dogs, but we leave one or two houses without pets for folks who are allergic or who would just prefer to have no pets in the house. The rental agency charges a fee for each pet brought, and we have the pet owner pay this.

    Officially, none of the houses we've ever rented have allowed more than 10 or 12 people in them at one time, but we've been able to get away with more than that because we don't cause a lot of trouble. As long as we keep the numbers at reasonable levels, we should be fine (i.e., 15 or 20 folks in a house being OK, but 40 people singing Irish drinking songs at the tops of their lungs being not-so-OK).

Here are house configurations for some houses we tend to get:

Q=queen, D=double, T=twin, DB=duobunk (bunk made from twin & double), BB=bunk bed, QSS=queen sleep-sofa, DSS=double sleep-sofa, Day=day bed with pull-out trundle (basically, two twins), Tr=Twin rollaway Numbers in parenthesis are the maximum number of people we put in that spot. Note that some spots are too uncomfortable to assign people to.
