REALIZE THE PROMISE!!! A DAY TO END SPECIAL SEGREGATION.

Nearly 25 years ago, through the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, America promised kids with disabilities that, from that day forward, they would be recognized, appreciated, and educated as whole, full, young Americans whose right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness would be afforded them, regardless of the nature of their disability, just as it is for all other young Americans.

What Can You Do?

  1. Join in! October 11, 1998 in Washington, D.C. Come join in a day of action in the heart of American democracy. Guest speakers will include national policymakers, disability and children's advocates, students with and without disabilities who are benefiting from IDEA and their families, educators, entertainers, celebrities and sports personalities.
  2. Add your voice! The list of co-sponsors for this event will be published soon. For details on how to add your name or the name of your group or organization as a co-sponsor, please contact Marcie Roth at TASH, 410-828-8274 X 104 or send email to marcie@erols.com.
  3. Tell everyone! Spread the news of this event far and wide. Share it with family members, friends, neighbors, your PTA, educators and your elected representatives.
