Antique Astronomy Postcards
I have been collecting antique astronomy postcards since 1991, just after coming back from the solar eclipse in Hawaii. I had gone up to Albany, New York (actually well north of there to take my son to scout camp) and decided to do some HOWIA research at Dudley Observatory. There I saw a postcard of Dudley from about 1911. I got hooked into another aspect of astronomy from then on. My collection, now more than 700 cards, includes observatories and telescopes from all over the world (several pre-1900) as well as some special events such as solar eclipses or comet apparitions. I try to restrict my collection to pre-1950s except if it is of some special event that would make it unique.

Following are samples from my collection. The observatories are all ca: 1900-1925. The Hartness Telescope is ca: 1950. (Click on the thumbnail for full-sized image.)
