Antenna Installation Video

  • See how to use a steel tram line to install your Yagi antennas below the top of your tower without hitting the guy wires!
  • System also works on antennas mounted on a mast above the top of your tower.
  • See the raising of two Yagis onto TIC Ring Rotors @ 67’ and 100’ on a 134’ tower.
  • Watch the installation of a Force12 EF-180C 80 meter rotatable dipole at 140’ by a professional installation crew.
  • See how to modify the EF-180C for mechanical strength and waterproofing of the fiberglass center insulator. Also, see the modifications to the loading coils in relay box for wider-band operation.
This video shows the actual installation of a 5 element 20 M beam @ 100 feet, a 2 element 40 M beam @ 67 feet and a 80 M rotatable dipole on a mast at 140 feet. Since the video was taken during installations-in-progress, it’s not Hollywood, but it is instructional. That’s the purpose of this tape…to show you some example practices that are used in the field.

All installations shown were performed at the QTH of Bill Hider, N3RR, who participated in all installations and shot many of the video sequences:

  1. 20 M Yagi @ 100 feet. 24 minutes, 15 seconds (24:15)
  2. 40 M Yagi @ 67 feet. 3 minutes, 33 seconds (3:33)
  3. 80 M Dipole @ 140 feet. 1 hour, 1 minute, 24 seconds (1:01:24)
