Have an attenuation of less than or equal to 1.0 dB from the shack to the antenna.
- Be relatively easy to install through 220 feet of 4 inch Schedule 40 PVC conduit and up the 134 foot tower.
- Be able to interface properly with the various lightning arrestors, connecting cables, and other intra-facility cables.
- Be relatively low cost - available at hamfests, etc.
That led me to determine the cables to use for the longest runs up the tower. In doing so, I asked my friend, Frank Donovan, W3LPL for assistance.
Frank provided me with a set of tables that proved very useful in determining exactly what I would need. |
