Team Pennants of the Seventies

  • Atlanta Braves. Former home to HOFers Phil Niekro and Hank Aaron. Ted Turner bought the team in 1976.
  • KC Royals. George Brett, Bob Lemon. The expansion franchise started in 1969, and had the 1973 AS Game.
  • Montreal Expos. An NL expansion team of 1969. Home to Rusty Staub, Gary Carter, Tim Raines.

  • LA Dodgers. 1974 NL Champs. Home to Juan Marichal and Hoyt Wilhelm, Sandy Koufax and Mike Marshall.
  • Cincinnati Reds. THE dominant team of the '70s. They moved into Riverfront Stadium in 1970, won four League Championships and two World Series titles in the decade, with Sparky Anderson. Players included Rose, Bench, Foster, Morgan, Perez.
  • California Angels. 1979 AL Champs. Home of Jim Fergosi and friends!

  • NY Yankees, also a powerhouse in this decade. They were 1976 AL Champs, 1977 and 1978 World Champs. More players, managers and executives from the Yankees have been inducted into the HOF than from any other team.
