Humans are so irritating. But we have to deal with them because they're important in this game the Powers (our bosses) are playing with the various Hell dimensions. Especially this one small group of humans who live on the Hellmouth. For example, there's this girl. The Slayer. Last year she jumped into a portal to Hell and died. She wasn't supposed to die, her "sister" was supposed to be the one to jump. But now we're minus a very important Slayer and I'm the one who has to fix things. Should be simple. The little redhead has always been adventurous when it comes to magic. Just point her in the right direction. I knew that the Slayer might be a little disoriented when she first came back so I arranged for a little fight to smooth the transition. Have this demon biker gang ride in, the Slayer thrashes them, everyone rebonds, all is well. The problem is the gang rides right INTO the ritual so everyone gets scattered and the Slayer has to claw her way out of her own grave. No problem. Just make sure she has someone to guide her back to normalcy, or what passes for normalcy for a Slayer. Her Watcher almost left a couple of years ago because he thought he wasn't needed. So I arrange things so he's REALLY needed. THIS time he leaves because his Slayer is "too dependent" on him. Meanwhile, the little redhead is getting a bit TOO adventurous with magic. So I arrange for one of her friends to reappear, or at least someone who LOOKS like one of her friends. Simple plan. The redhead and her "friend" go on a magical spree. The redhead gets into trouble and learns to be a bit more cautious. Except that the redhead decides she has to give up ALL magic. Permanently. Now I have to coax her back, but she's stubborn and won't let herself be coaxed. Maybe I need to work on her ex. New problem. It's supposed to be important that one of the Slayer's other friends actually marries this ex-demon. Something about a great destiny for one of their children. Except that he's getting cold feet. He isn't saying much but I can sense it. Fortunately, I have this great plan...
