Software Development Experience:

• Self employed (April 1988- March 2000). Computer simulation, software programming and development (FORTRAN, C, C++, Delphi). Projects have included:
  • Full-cycle development of image processing and loans tracking software (Delphi) for use by a major Virginia bank. Oracle & Access database SQL query/updates, via ODBC client-server connections. (Client: Task Technologies, Fairfax VA)
  • Software development (Fortran, C, C++) for modeling of electrical distribution systems (AC distribution; electrostatic coupling) and rapid transit traction power systems (vehicle performance simulation, load flow, network analysis, voltage drop.) Preparation of related user documentation and training seminars at client's offices. (Client: Deleuw/Parsons Engineering, Washington DC). This software has been utilized in design of rapid transit systems in Washington DC, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, New York, Dallas, Miami, and Singapore.
• Project Electrical Engineer with Henningson, Durham, and Richardson, Alexandria VA (June 1984- August 1987). Engineering software development for power distribution system design (load tabulation, fault current estimation, voltage drop determination.)
• Principal Electrical Engineer with Deleuw, Cather & Co., Washington DC (August 1982-June 1984; August 1979-September 1981). Development of computer software packages in FORTRAN for traction power system modeling (vehicle performance simulation, load flow, voltage drop, thermal loading of substation equipment).

Engineering Experience:

• Self employed (April 1988- March 2000). Electrical design responsibility from concept through construction supervision for over 130 different commercial and residential projects, as a consultant to local DC-area contractors, engineers, and architects.
• Electrical Engineer (contract employee) with Architect of the Capitol, Washington DC (September 1987- February 1988). Redesign of power, lighting, and systems packages for rehabilitation/restoration of Jefferson and Adams Buildings at Library of Congress.
• Project Electrical Engineer with Henningson, Durham, and Richardson, Alexandria VA (June 1984- August 1987). Electrical design for Beebe Hospital expansion (Lewes, DE; 60,000 sq. ft.), Wentworth Douglas Hospital expansion (Dover, NH; 65,000 sq. ft.), Johns Hopkins University and University of Virginia teaching facility/vivarium/research labs; King Abdulaziz University site distribution system (13.8 kV) and 36,000 ton chiller plant (including design for six 12,000 hp 13.8 kV drive systems) in Saudi Arabia.
• Principal Electrical Engineer with Deleuw, Cather & Co., Washington DC (August 1982- June 1984). Overcurrent device coordination studies, and traction power system performance studies.
• Electrical Engineer (contract employee) with IBM, Manassas VA (December 1981- June 1982). Field survey work; design and plans/specifications preparation for retrofit and new construction of site facilities.
• Senior Electrical Engineer with Deleuw, Cather & Co., Washington DC (August 1979- September 1981). Traction power substation design.
