TAURINE BIBLIOPHILES OF
AMERICA MET AT "TERTULIA” IN
PENNSYLVANIA |
|
More than thirty members of Taurine Bibliophiles of America (TBA)celebrated their passion for bulls and years of friendship during a three day tertulia, June 29-July 1, at the home of Jane Hurwitz (Vice-president/Secretary) and William Patent in Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania.
It is a rare event for club members to meet because TBA, unlike other clubs and peñas, has no scheduled reunions and contact is made via our quarterly literary publication, La Busca.
After many years, it was wonderful to embrace old friends, meet new members, talk of bulls and books, feast on fabulous food, and enjoy Spanish wines. El matador Mario Carrión gave an erudite presentation on the “Clichés of Bullfighting” and was elevated to Honorary Member of TBA; Michael Crouser, a talented photographer and aficionado presented his new book LOS TOROS ; and a collection of taurine books and memorabilia was auctioned. Especially significant was the attendance of three past presidents, the current officers, the editor of La Busca, and our official bibliographer.
