The Actual And Original USS Halibut's Bell

The bell is now part of the USS Halibut Artifacts Collection

Halibut's Bell Mounted for Display

This bell was received via Dave Aldrich who also provided this sturdy mounting. The bell will be used at all future reunions to toll in remembrance of our shipmates on "Eternal Patrol".

Rick Larson's USS Halibut Memorabilia Collection

This fine collection of significant items was donated by the widow of our shipmate Rick Larson

Halibut Memorabilia For Sale

Dickey B1rd selling monogrammed shirts, hats, and other Halibut stuff. Thanks to John Long our inventory was nearly depleted

Biannual Business Meeting

Very casual, very cordial. We got a new COB, ACOB, and Co- Treasures. More committees will be formed through volunteers.

Boarding The Bus

Boarding the bus for Friday morning's tour over on the Groton side. Gee, I hope we hit Elfie's over by EB.

Bus Monitor

Our COB, Dave Aldrich, mustering the troops before the tour. Thanks to John "Ole" Olson for taking charge of the navigation duties. Otherwise, we may have toured Providence, RI

Begin The Guided Tour

An excellent tour of the training facilities. We even got to operate a submarine (a virtual one).

Rock Lake

It did not look this placid 51 years ago. Just ask anyone who hauled the rocks.

Submarine Fare

A beautiful Mess Hall, good company, and a variety of tasty food efficiently served. Just like in Halibut nearing the end of a long operational assignment.

The U.S. Navy Submarine Museum

We boarded the USS Nautilus, then saw submarine related displays at the museum.

Chili and Beer

Friday night at the USSVI Groton Base Clubhouse. Just like old times (some even talked like Pirates).

Your Webmaster Gets One Too

Thanks to our Association's shipmates for their participation in our activities, and helping make our Web page successful. Others have done the hard work- I just presented it- so y'all share in this recognition.

The Party's Over

This has been our seventh reunion (not including the two get togethers) since the formation of the USS Halibut Veteran's Association. Next time, in 2010, we will celebrate USS Halibut's Diamond Jubilee, being in the 50th year since her commissioning. It's going to be a special time, so don't miss the celebration. See y'all then.
