SERCITEC-GENERAL BACKGROUND

The consulting firm Servicios Cientificos y Tecnicos, C. por A., SERCITEC, was founded in 1967 through the concerns of a group of Dominican professionals from the most diverse fields of engineering, making available to the government and to the private sector their broad range of experiences and working abilities.

Since then, through the efforts of its principals and associates and the high standards of quality of their work, the firm has made its mark in the field of consulting in the Dominican Republic, an accomplishment that has been acknowledged by our clients which include diverse governmental organizations, national and international firms, and world renowned institutions such as the Inter-American Development Bank, The World Bank, USAID, etc.

From its founding, the firm has been committed to the broadest range of jobs, including sector studies, regional development plans, planning, feasibility studies, marketing, finances, operation and environmental studies, design and\or construction of agribusiness projects, information systems, institutional and industrial buildings, industrial parks, tourism projects, hotels, water supply, canals, dams, marinas, sewage systems (see Irrigation Systems), highways, railroads and transportation systems; procurement services, supervision of constructions and inspection of equipment installation, projects managements, specialized personnel recruitment, accounting\auditing, institutional strengthening, organizational development studies, etc., that have enhanced the individuals accumulated experience of its members. Its permanent employees, professionals and support personnel, provide it with the capacity for handling any project within the sphere of its expertise.

Our experience covers a broad spectrum of services and fields of specialization in the sectors of agriculture and rural development, roads studies and supervision, Architecture , industrial development, urban development, environment, energy, tourism, water supply and sanitary/health, energy, environment, transportation, education and telecommunication (see list of services and fields of specialization), that permits us supply the services required on these sectors for any project. SERCITEC, with a permanent payroll of 120 professionals, technicians and paratechnicians, is at present the largest consulting firm in the country, and one of the largest of Central America and the Caribbean.
