PRR M1B #6755

This huge Mountain class 4-8-4 sits just behind the museum in Strasburg. It is notable for several reasons, one is because it is the largest preserved Pennsylvania RailRoad engine in existance. Another interesting thing about this engine is that it has a "coast to coast" tender, with a doghouse on it for the fireman, and a water scoop for re-watering on the fly.

Built in 1930, at the Juniata Shops of the PRR, this Mountian class M1B locomotive is an impressive sight, standing still, or, in one of the pictures inside the museum, at a 60 mph runby pulling water out of the trackside pool in a huge cloud of flying liquid.
