I was going to market this seat and adapter bracket, but decided not to because I couldn't find a machinist who could make the adapter brackets without ripping me off. So.... my misfortune is your fortune... Using my trusty trash can as a prop, get a look a mod that can make your "can" happier.....

There are two thing you have to do: (1) Go to your local K-Mart and purchase a "trolling" seat found in the Marine Supplies Section of the store. The seat is made by Action Products (P/N 5480, in different colors) and sells for around $19.95.
There is also a second and perhaps better source for very similar seat from Cabelas Sporting Goods (www.cabelas.com) . It's part called the Pro-Pedestal Seat and is P/N CB-01-2255 (Spring '01, in different colors) for $21.95. Unfortunately, while in the catalog, it's not on their website yet.
Secondly (the hard part), the adapter brackets required to mount the seat on to the sliding bikeE mount must are made from 2" aluminum stock angle bracket material, which is available at Home Depot and similar stores for @ $20.00 for an 8' length. Below is the close-up of the adapter brackets on the bottom of the new seat and a simple design drawing.
Here, I have a picture showing what the adapter brackets look like on the bottom of the "trolling" seat.
Yes, you can make these brackets at home, using just a ruler, a hacksaw, a rat-tail file, and a hand drill. However, a scale, a protractor, a bandsaw (with the proper metal cutting blade), and a drill press (with a milling attachment) will make a more finished product.
Use the existing stock bikeE clamping hardware to mount the seat/adapter brackets to the sliding seat mount.
I have been using this seat for the past 4 1/2 years, and my butt couldn't be happier!!!
Enjoy!!
Oh yea, check out that nifty frame bag on the first photo.
