Welcome!

My name is Julie and I have caught the running bug. Running Bug

It all started in 2001, when Greg and I dared each other to train with the National AIDS Marathon Training Program. "Come on...it will be a once in a lifetime experience," we said. I could never have done it without this wonderful program (or this wonderful friend, for that matter). And, little did I know that I would actually come to ENJOY running! I've been running ever since, and I'm now training for my 8th marathon and 2nd triathlon. As you can see from the photos below, I've had a lot of fun over the years!

I have created this site as a way for family and friends to keep an eye on my progress. I hope you enjoy it!

Use the buttons on the left to read my training journal or see my other photos. Or, check out these "greatest hits" from previous years:

Mini-Tri

I completed my first triathlon on June 15, 2008! I was terrified on the bike, but it hardly shows.
Ok, ok...it totally shows. :D

Outer Banks

November 11, 2007 was my first travel marathon, in Outer Banks, NC. It was great to be with Greg again (and Charlie, Butch, and Chris, too)!

Social Butterfly

I completed the Marine Corps Marathon on October 29, 2006...my toughest so far (in large part because I missed running with Greg, who was kicking butt at the Florence, Italy marathon this year).

Toe-riffic

On October 30, 2005, Greg, Randy, and I apparently became delirious during the Marine Corps Marathon and thought we were on a roller coaster. Running on a broken toe will do that to a person, I guess.

Greg and Julie-Bee

Looking bee-utiful at the Marine Corps Marathon on October 31, 2004.

Starting Line

Here are a few of my pace group members as we begin the Marine Corps Marathon on October 26, 2003.

Finish Line

Here's the dramatic finale as Greg and I finish the Marine Corps Marathon on October 27, 2002.

My First Marathon

Greg and I look fantastic as we finish the Inaugural Baltimore Marathon on October 20, 2001. Read the story of my first marathon or look through the exciting photos!
