Photo Album (Week Twenty-Five: Marathon Day!)
Page 1: Pre-race

This is my hotel room the night before the marathon. I knew I'd never sleep unless I had everything laid out with no room for human error in the morning. That's the "Good Luck" balloon Andrea brought me at lunch. She's so sweet! |
Speaking of sweet . . . this is Pam. She and Emily spent much of Friday night decorating their singlets with glitter paint and hoping it would dry in time. |
My sister, Susan, joined us around 11pm. They look wide awake here, but we went to sleep within 20 minutes of this photo. |
This is the marathon course. It looks flat here, but you should have seen it in 3-D! |
PSInet Stadium, home of the Baltimore Ravens (and novice marathoners)! |
It sure is dark. I think more marathons should start around 10ish. Although, then we wouldn't have finished before dark, so I guess you can't win either way. |
This is sunrise over the finish line. It's deserted right now, but we'll see it bustling with activity for the next 8+ hours! |
So, we thought we might need an ego boost toward the end of the race. Nothing like having a total stranger yelling sweet nothings as you run by! |
"Go farther than you ever thought you could." That perfectly sums up the past 6 months. I swear I had a version of this photo with all of us facing the right camera, but someone must have stolen it. |
Talk about an ego boost!!! |
Greg and I have spent countless hours trying to figure out why we are standing so weird in this photo. I also just noticed that Emily has to tie her shoe. |
The official clock has started and we're slowly making our way to the balloon-laden starting line (right behind Jeanie and Joanie)! |
