Wardenclyffe Technology Ltd. is named in honor of Tesla's behemoth tower, which was to be used for trans-Atlantic wireless communications and the demonstration of wireless power transmission.  It was erected in 1901 at Wardenclyffe (now Shoreham) on Long Island, NY.  It was a complete financial disaster.  This appealed to my sense of romance...  (Photo by Lillian McChesney circa 1916.)
