Day by day, The Balladiers chorus members are getting older and older and are fighting the odds of the elderly. With that said, it is my sad duty to report that on 2/26/08, Howard Rusk died suddenly. He was a very strong "lead" voice and you never knew when he might break out in song. The Balladiers offer sincere condolence to his family and friends. At the request of Howard's family, The Balladiers sang two of his favorite hymns at his viewing.
The Balladiers opened the National Security and Foreign Relations meeting on March 26th with The National Anthem and later in the program added some patriotic melodies. Again, Director Gene Balcerak did an outstanding job leading us; and who likewise directed the Post Everlasting program.
Good to have Charles Kreafle back after an injury and sorry to know that we will be losing a baritone voice as Charley Trageser and his wife relocate to Bel Air, MD.
Belated Happy 95th Birthday to Past Commander Thomas Keyes. Congratulations to our SAL Detachment as they celebrate their 50th anniversary.
