Auxiliary Scholarships
The following scholarships are available from the Parkville Auxiliary Unit.
Parkville American Legion Auxiliary
Open to All. Must be applying to a four-year college for the purpose of obtaining
a degree.
Children and Youth
Limited to the fields of: Arts & Sciences, Business & Public Administration,
Education and Medical Field (other than nursing). Offered for college in the State
of Maryland where above courses are offered. Offered to young women who are
citizens of the U.S., residing in Maryland, whose parents are/were veterans.
Past President's Parley
Must be the daughter of an ex-service woman who needs financial assistance in
order to attend an accredited school for nurse's training.
National President's
Must be daughters or sons of veterans who served in the Armed Forces during
eligibility dates for membership in the American Legion.
Spirit of Youth
Shall be or have been Junior members of the American Legion Auxiliary for the
past three years and must hold a membership card for the current (1999) year.
Applicant must continue her membership in the American Legion Auxiliary
during the four-year-scholarship period. Must in their senior year of an accredited
high school.
Girl Scout Achievement Award
Must have received the Girl Scout Gold Award. Must be an active member of her
religious institution and must have received the appropriate religious emblem,
Cadette or Senior Scout level.
