WALL BAKER

Wallen W. BAKER was born Sept. 9, 1837 in Tennessee, possibly Sneedsville. Wallen was the son of John S. Baker(born 1-23-1804) and Susannah Wallen(born 1804). Wallen married Sidney Warren and their children were Susan(born 1863), Noah(born 1865), Caroline(born 1867),Minerva (1870), Alice(born 1872), Jefferson(born 1875), Laura(born 1877) and Martha(born 1878). Wall was Navada's Great Grandfather on her mother's side. Wall Baker was Caroline's father; Caroline was Navada's grandmother.

Mary Dovie BELCHER, born Jan. 28, 1902, Sneedsville, Tennessee. Mary Dovie BELCHER was Navada's mother.

JOHN ROBERT HEFLIN

John Robert HEFLIN was born 10 Oct 1833 at Turkey Run, Fauquier, Virginia. He was the son of William HEFLIN, Jr. and Lucy F. BRISCOE. John died 1908 at Turkey Run, Fauquier, Virginia, and was buried 1908 at Turkey Run, Cemetery on farm, in Virginia. He married Susan Amanda BUTLER 20 Dec 1853 at Fauquier, Virginia.






      WILLIAM CARTER HEFLIN

William Carter HEFLIN, sitting in chair, was born 22 Jan 1855 in Meetz Station, Fauquier, VA. William died 17 Feb 1928 in Leesburg, Loudoun Hospital, VA, and was buried 19 Feb 1928 in Leesburg, Union Cemetery, VA. He married Carrie Marshall THAYER in 26 Dec 1878 in VA. She was born 16 Oct 1861 in Fauquier County, VA, the daughter of George William THAYER and Frances Ann NEWHOUSE. Carrie died 19 Jul 1890 in Loudoun County, VA, and was buried Jul 1890 in Leesburg, Union Cemetery, VA. Bill had a large farm outside of Leesburg, Loudoun County, near the Potomac River. He raised and sold bloodhounds for hunting. He was quite famous for his purebred dogs. There is a chapter on him in a book, "The Fox-Hunter's Bedside Book", either by or about Henry Higginson, an Englishmen.






JOHN WILLIAM HEFLIN

John William Carter HEFLIN, born 19 Apr 1882 at Fauquier, Virginia. He married Maude NORFORD in Virginia. She was born at Charlottesville, Accomack, Virginia. John died 19 Jul 1963, and was buried at Cedar Hill Cemetery , Washington D.C. John was a fireman at the 17th Engine Fire Station in Washington D.C. He later lived in Charlottesville. VA.






    JACOB AND JESSIE BARNHOUSE

Jacob Nelson BARNHOUSE was born November 1889 in Lucketts, Virginia. His parents were Edgar J. Barnhouse (1862 -1931) and Gertrude Stocks (1854 -1939). Jacob married Jessie Newton (1896 -1957) on October 15, 1914 in Frederick, Maryland. They had nine children, Amos, Frances, Edna, Claude, Lucy, Charles, Henry, Harry and Paul. Edna died while an infant. Jacob worked as a Switchman for the railroad at Point of Rocks, Maryland. He was killed by a train on January 24, 1935 and Jessie had to raise all of the children by herself. She bought a house in Lucketts, Va. and raised her children there. The house is still standing on New Valley Church Road. Jessie was Ron's Grandmother on his mother's side.

CHARLES MARSHALL AND NELLIE MAE HEFLIN

Charles Marshall HEFLIN was born in Leesburg, Va. on January 30, 1888. He was a farmer all of his life. He married Nellie Mae Atwell (born Dec. 30, 1895). They had nine children, Charles Jr., Cora Marshall, James William, Walter Brown, John Aubrey, William Carter, Helen, Mae Elizabeth and Tom Edward. Charles Marshall passed away on August 14, 1963. Nellie passed away on April 28, 1960. They are buried in Union Cemetery, Leesburg, Virginia. Charles's parents were William Carter Heflin (born 01-22-1855,D. 02-17-1928) and Carrie Thayer (born 10-16-1861, D.07-18-1890), They are buried in Union Cemetery, Leesburg, Va. Nellie's parents were James William Atwell (born 07-29-1855, D. 05-28-1928) and Cora V. Ellmore (born 12-12-1870, D.01-16-1945). Charles Marshall Heflin was Ron's Grandfather on his father's side.

          TONY AND MARY GIBSON

Mary Dovie BELCHER was born in Sneedville, Tenn. on January 28,1902. Her parents were Caroline BAKER (1867) and McClelan Belcher (Clynn) (1866). Mary (nicknamed Molly) was very young when her father died. Her mother worked in a boarding house in Stonega, Va. to support herself and Mary. Mary worked at the boarding house until she was 13 years old and she eloped with Fred SMITH. They had four children, Edgar, Litten, Maxie and Roxie. Fred died when they were very young. Mary met Tony Lee GIBSON (03-10-1899) and married him in Lee County, Va. on May 14,1927. They had four children, Christine, Evelyn, Fred and Navada. Tony passed away on Jan. 27,1978 and is buried at Bear Creek Cemetery in Dayton,Ohio. Mary passed away on Dec. 2,1986 and is buried at Bear Creek.






JIM AND FRANCES HEFLIN

James William HEFLIN (Bud) was born in Dickerson,Maryland. He worked for Washington Gas and was a D.C. Policeman before entering the Army during World War II. Evelyn Mckimmey introduced Bud to her cousin, Frances Gertrude BARNHOUSE (born July 28, 1918). Bud and Frances married in Ellicott City, Md. in September 1938. They lived in Leesburg, Va., D.C., Morningside, Md. and Lovettsville, Virginia. Bud rejoined the D.C. Police Force after the Service. He played baseball for Wash., D.C. Police Team and won the city championship in 1950. He also played county baseball for Lucketts, Va. team and later coached and managed the team. He also coached the Lovettsville, Va. team. Bud and Frances had one child, James Randolph Heflin (Ron). Frances passed away May 8, 1980 and is buried in Union Cemetery in Leesburg, Va. Jim (Bud) retired from the D.C. Police Force August 1, 1971 and lived in North Carolina. Jim passed away September 19, 1998 and is buried with Frances in Union Cemetery in Leesburg, Va.
