The
following workshops can be customize for an individual
school:
-
One
Computer Classroom
-
Infusing
the Internet into the Classroom
-
Graphics
and Digital Images to Enhance Project Based Instruction
-
Developing
Instructional Web Pages
-
Teacher
Web
-
Use
Word to Develop Internet Enhanced Lessons
-
Language
Arts and the Internet
-
Enhancing
the Social Studies Curriculum with Technology
The following are a series of workshops that I can develop for
schools receiving a TIM's Grant. The order is critical because
they build upon each other.:
Technology Infusion in the
Elementary Classroom
- Adapting Software For
Classroom Use.
(word, excel, publisher, Inspiration)
- The Internet and How to Make
It User Friendly
(setting up bookmarks, hot topic lists, scrapbooks, using
search engines, Teacher Web, Blackboard.com)
- Developing Your Own
Presentations for Use With Children
(using Power Point to introduce a topic, display student work,
as a scrap book of classroom activities, etc.)
- Scaffolding For Success
(Web Adventures (treasure hunts), Web Quests)
The following are some considerations.
Are they too broad?
Do we need to divide them up
even more?
- Maybe they need to be
presented more
then once.
- How about one workshop and
then follow it up with one lab session so that teachers can work
on what they've learned.
What about doing a monthly
series? That way the teachers don't have to feel so over whelmed
and they will have a chance to implement what they've learned
before they are hit with something new.
