About Turner's Syndrome
Turner's
Syndrome is found on approximately one in 2,500 females.
In
1938, a doctor named Henry Turner described a set of common
physical features he observed in seven of his patients. The
cause of Turner's Syndrome, as the condition became to be
known, was not discovered until 21 years later, when genetic
research revealed the presence of only one normal X
chromosome. The other X chromosome may be missing entirely,
or it may be present but incomplete or altered in some way.
