       Threat, Purpose, Goals, and Objectives

Threat

The threat to which LIFEGUARD is responding is the on-going expansion of abortion and abortion-related services in America and the flourishing but spiritually and intellectually flawed mindset that supports the inhumane practice.

Purpose and Goal

Lifeguard's purpose is to provide a disciplined and coordinated action arm of the pro-life movement in various hostile venues that deploys Constitutionally protected, Biblical, rhetorical, and protest tactics in order to dissuade women from seeking abortions, neutralize opposition rationales, and save lives. The goal of LIFEGUARD then is the total elimination of abortion in America and beyond and the raising of a national awareness of the evils of abortion.

Objectives

In support then of the LIFEGUARD purpose and goal, the following specific objectives are formulated:

1.  Solicit prayer devotions from auxiliary members to be applied to pro-life LIFEGUARD activities between 8 am. and 11 am. Saturday mornings.

2.  Make presentations to interested Church groups/the public; and recruit, train, encourage, and supervise male and female LIFEGUARD members.

3.  Develop and update a training program, a Code of Conduct, and a coordinated strategy to be adopted by all LIFEGUARD members and hold members accountable to such regulation.

4. Conduct mobile, front-line pro-life interventions to include Constitutionally protected sidewalk preaching, counseling/referral, public prayer/debate, political theater, personal appeal and repentance activities that are consistent with shared Christian beliefs and the God-given dignity of all people, even those engaged in abortion activity.

5.  Conduct such appropriate morale-raising activities as breakfast meetings, personal mentoring, material assistance, and spiritual/recreational diversions so as to console and encourage LIFEGUARD members.
