The Dragon's Masque

The Dragon's Masque (more informally known as Milan Mystery Theater) was a chat-based chronicle that took several months to play out, and generated over 1,000 pages of transcripts. Thankfully, we won't post those reams of chat here. What we will do, however, is attempt to revive a long-neglected form of entertainment, one that kept readers enthralled and newspapers and magazines out of bankruptcy throughout the Victorian era: the serial novel.

Since what makes for a good roleplaying session doesn't necessarily work for fiction, the original story will be undergoing considerable changes as it makes the transition. Nevertheless, it's our hope that you will worry, deduct, and (maybe) triumph along with Etienne, just as Sarah did in the game itself; and that your mind, too, will exert itself as enjoyably as Janet's did while devising the murderer's fiendish conundrums.

New chapters to the novel will be posted regularly (and announced on the site's home page as they appear). If you wish to receive notification of site updates, please email us.
