Obituary for Helen Benson Wilcox
Mrs. Helen Benson Wilcox, wife of
Ellsworth S. Wilcox of Farrows
street, died at her home Friday afternoon following a two day's illness.She
was sixty-four years old.*
Born in Thompson on March 11th., 1873,
Mrs. Wilcox was the daughter
of Thomas and Sarah (Blackstone) Benson. She had lived in this
city since
the time of her marriage to Mr. Wilcox thirty-four years ago.
She was
organist at the Methodist Episcopal church here for thirty years.
Mrs.
Wilcox is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Austin Lathrop
of
Farmington, and Mrs. Robert Fuller** of Stanford, and one son, Walter
F.
Wilcox, of Riverhead, Long Island. She also leaves six grandchildren,
and
one sister, Mrs. Abner Boothby of Kennebunkport, Maine.
Funeral services were held
Monday afternoon at two o'clock at the
Methodist Episcopal church on Grove street. The Rev. Frederick
A. Dyckman,
pastor, officiated. Burial was in Grove street cemetery.
* According to Marion's diary, Helen died Oct 15, 1935 of a heart
attack. She was 62 Years old.
