well,
since he is an ancestor of Joseph Smith, founder of the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-Day Saints and of at least two presidents of the
Church.
Savage is probably not the best source for LOTHROP/LATHROP ancestry.
There has been much written about this family. One of the best is
in
"Various Ancestral Lines of James and Lucy (Morgan) Goodwin of Hartford,
Connecticut", volume 1, compiled by Frank Farnsworth Starr for James
J.
Goodwin in 1915.
