The Northern Virginia Go Club at GMU - Arlington

The Northern Virginia (NOVA) Go Club at GMU - Arlington meets at the George Mason University Law School every Monday night at 7 PM. Note that the open air central student/faculty parking lot is not available to the general public and club members must find street parking if necessary.

Players at all levels and every ethnic background are welcome. The membership ranges from beginners to 4 Dan. Of the nearly 40 members, typically 15-20 attend each week. The NOVA GO Club is an official chapter of the American Go Association (http://www.usgo.org/).

Full board lessons are offered each week. Lessons for low kyu players start at 7:30 PM. Lessons for upper kyu/lower dan levels start at around 8:00 PM. Stronger players are always willing to engage in teaching games with less advanced players. The NOVA Go Club is well known for its hospitality!

The Club conducts Quarterly tournaments, most of which are handicap matches. They are usually held on Saturdays and cover four rounds at 45 minutes per player. American Go Association membership is required to compete.
