MARCUS TILMAN SIMS
has 30 years experience as a composer, mandolinist, drummer and singer.
He graduated magna cum laude from Shenandoah Conservatory, and has completed
three years of training with Reinhard Flatischler, the Austrian composer
and percussionist who developed Ta Ke Ti Na. He is co-founder of The
Village Tree, a monthly drumming and dancing event and recently initiated
the Rhythm Workers Union, drummers and musicians working for peace and justice.
Both are expressions of his mission to 'bring healing to the world
through cultivating our awareness of rhythm'. As a long time student
of yoga, dance and the healing arts, Marcus believes in the power and necessity
of a loving community for healing our culture.
