Recreational Sports/ Fitness Resume

I have amassed much working experience in the Recreational Sports Field, however, computers and designs have always been a "thing" on the side, in which I wish to expand and share with the world.

Web Design and Web Pages

I have spent a lot of my free time exploring the different features of the numerous software I can get my hands on. I love the creative aspects of the World Wide Web, where the sky is the limit and the masses to enjoy it. With the "Undo" button as my best friend, I have educated myself with the different capabilities of the software. By endeavoring into the depths of the features, reading the resource books, and eventually take classes, I have enabled myself to create professional-looking creations.

Web Designs
Creations I have developed were made using Corel DRAW 8, Corel Photo-Paint 8, Adobe PhotoShop 6.0, Adobe Illustrator 7.0, Ulead COOL 3-D, Macromedia Flash 5, and Macromedia Fireworks 3.

Classes in Web Design include:

Web Pages
I have learned using FrontPage 98 and until I recently got FrontPage 2000. After shopping on Ebay, I got my hands on Dreamweaver, Flash, and Fireworks, a whole new experience for me to savor. I have helped maintain and update the University of Vermont's Recreational Sports Office WebPage and developed a volunteer Website for Computer Seniors of America.

Classed involving WebPages:

Sites I Developed

BBoats: Yacht Brokerage (www.bboats.com)

Site redone with existing information. Comstructed using Macromedia Fireworks, Macromedia Dreamweaver, and Adobe Photoshop. Other changes include changing servers, new additions such as "New Products," "Charters," "Ocean Rentals," "Viking Production," Navigation bar, and new homepage.

Baltimore Charters (www.Baltimorecharters.com)

Site was changed to new server. Minor updates to existing site were done.

The Healthy Weigh, LLC (www.angelfire.com/md2/gravelle)

Site, currently under construction, has been created using Macromedia Dreamweaver, Macromedia Fireworks, Macromedia Flash, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe ImageReady. All content had been researched and put together by myself. I developed all graphics and designs. The Healthy Weigh logo was reconstructed based upon image. The Healthy Weigh Screenshot

Computer Senior of America (www.trimservices.com/compseniors)

This site was created with very little information to begin with. A logo and a few flyers worth of information was the basis for the site. I started the site using FrontPage98 and completed it with FrontPage 2000. Will be relocated once new location is determined.

Steve's Pages (www.erols.com/gravelle)

University of Vermont's Recreational Sports Office (www.uvm.edu/~recspts/recsports.htm)

While a Graduate Facility Intern at the Recreational Sports Office at the University of Vermont, I assisted with maintaining their WebSite. The use of Microsoft Excel, for the weekly updates and Netscape Composer to update other information, gave me an opportunity to get more exposed to the webpages

Recreational Sports, Facility Management, and Fitness

I have earned the privilege to go to the University of Maryland, College Park to earn a Bachelor of Sciences in Kinesiological Sciences. Originally, an Aerospace Engineer Major, I then chose to go into a field that has taught me something all my life, Kinesiological Sciences. As a hearing-impaired individual, I have struggled to find my confidence and friends. Sports have taught me a lot, thus I changed my major to something that could impact others by improving their health and lifestyle. I worked with the Campus Recreation Services and decided to pursue the Recreational Sports Field. I went to the University of Vermont for a nine month Internship where I hired, trained, evaluated, and disciplined 50+ employees and helped maintain the newly expanded facilities for the University of Vermont's community.

I have also took pride in working at the YMCA's in both Burlington, Vermont and Ellicott City, Maryland. There I have worked as a Fitness Trainer and Fitness Evaluator for its members.
