BORG
(watching Psyche herding the SHEEP!)
BORG "Resistance is Futile"
| BORG: The rescue I have right now is a Swissy-mix and he is a
charmer, he unfortunately had to be treated for Heartworms and wasn't ready to be placed
until after mid-Jan 1999. He had to be on strict crate rest and leash walked only for the
first 6 weeks and be retested/retreated (and now cleared). I've had him for a couple of
months. He has been neutered now and has learned some basic manners and has been out
to the farm to have some fun with the SHEEP. He is about a year old now, and about
70 lbs, well-built, well-muscled dog. He is probably Swissy crossed with Australian
Shepherd, we say he is a "swisstralian" or a "swaussie":) (GRIN). He is typical black with tan and white- like a Swissy- but he has two faint areas of brownish merling, typical of an Aussie. He is an active dog and he is crate trained and housetrained but sometimes needs reminders about bouncing too much on the furniture or acting too wild inside... Remember he was confined for almost 2 months and he is still getting that worked out of his system!!! He likes all dogs and all people, but he will chase the cats if they run, but if they
act cool so does he. I'd like to place him in a home with one or two other
dogs (preferably females) and no cats or very dog-wise cats. He'd like to get to
keep learning about herding, he has a lot of promise, drive, instinct and ability but he'd
settle for someone who wants to JOG with him:)... I'm going to keep taking him to the farm
so that maybe some of the Border Collie people might be interested in a "REAL"
dog:) (GRIN--KIDDING).. |
