ZOOM	Dick Pimento bemoans the excessive rain that Southern California has had as he stands on the grass dance floor of the San Diego's Gator by the Bay Cajun Zydeco Festival. Dick sez that the grass has grown so vigorously that the promoters may be forced to cancel this year's event as there is no money in the budget for lawn mowing. A grass roots movement is underway to encourage all attendees to bring shears with them to the festival and perhaps clip away the growth to clear an area for music and dance.

	Transplanted Louisiana couple, the DuBois await Cajun entertainment in Las Vegas. Mandy DuBois and her husband Willy tells us that there is a lack of such performances at the major hotels. They claim that Zydeco artists are all the rage at the show rooms attracting thousands to "Sin City." They want equal time with artists such as Hunter Hays and Bayou Teche to appear right along side Siegfried and Roy.

	Borrowing an idea from the current front pages, Steve Riley of Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys hires a body/talent double to front his organization so that he can take a year off to rest. This reporter learned that the new front man, who is difficult to distinguish from the real Steve Riley in looks, also plays the accordion and sings with uncanny similarity to Steve. Band member David Greely confesses that even he finds it difficult to tell the difference. The group re-cut their old "Live" album and are distributing it via the Shopping Network on TV. Sales are bubbling!
