Plaisance LA: When organizers of the Southwest Louisiana Zydeco Festival discovered that they now have enough rain in the area to support a new and more profitable cash crop, they switched from a snap-bean field to a vineyard. The crop area, normally used on Labor Day weekend for the famous annual festival, is now no longer available. Future Zydeco festivals will be held at the parking lot of the local Wal*Mart.

Fred Sacher, Austrian Olympist on his way to Salt Lake City, after visiting the famous
Rock 'n' Bowl in New Orleans and learning how to dance to Zydeco music confessed that
he had "so much fun." He departed stating,
"I'll be back!"
