My name is Gerard Gorman and I am a Problem Solver. I specialized in new media web development, UI design, wireless and mobile Internet applications, as well as all aspects of traditional media creation. If you can image it I can produce it. I have been in the graphics/web industry for over 25 years. I have worked as a teacher, illustrator, graphic designer, web designer and art director. For the past 16 years I have been employed with Bell Laboratories and Wireless of Lucent Technologies as an art director for Media Development within Mobile Internet, Lucent Technologies, Whippany, NJ. Responsibilities included: Being a member of a webmaster team for the Lucent Wireless Business Unit responsible for the wireless internet/intranet, in addition, I was the art director, and senior designer of a research development group for wireless internet applications. As of July, 2001 I have left Lucent to pursue other opportunities in various new media fields. For the past twelve years I have been and continue to be an active Professor at the County College of Morris. My past and current curriculum include: Graphic Design 2, Typography, Advertising Layout, Page and Cover Design, and Computer-assisted Illustration. Previously I was the Electronic Design Committee chair and board member of the Art Directors Club of New Jersey (ADCNJ). In recent years I have focused my professional expertise on website development, UI (User Interface) design, and delivery. Graphic design awards include: American Graphic Design award, Association of the Graphic Arts (AGA) award, several ADCNJ awards, and an Excellence in Teaching NISOD Award in 2004. This portfolio site gives only a sample of a full service of offerings. I network closely with many vendors and experts to create, produce, and deliver your product on time and within your budget. Services include: User Interface Design (UI) I offer a strong skill set as a User Interface designer including traditional websites, portals, PDAs, handhelds, and other advanced communication devices. Additionally, I have extensive experience in developing mobile Internet applications for the wireless industry, primarily for the emerging Third Generation markets. Corporate Identity I have many years of experience in consulting, creation, production and delivery for a visual identity for products, services, and event presentations. I treat small jobs with the same enthusiasm and dedication as I do Fortune 500 companies. Graphics Design for any media, although I am better known for Web and UI design. I have years of experience as a Creative Director, Art Director, and Senior Designer. These combined web and print media skills save time and money when developing sites and printed collateral material. I have been teaching Graphic Design, Typography, Computer-Assisted Illustration, and all associated software programs to college level art students for more than 10 years. I am accustomed to working both individually as well as a team leader or member within a creative and dynamic environment. I have highly accomplished skills in many web authoring, graphic design, illustration, and network applications including Mac, PC, and Unix platforms.
