New Products Offered by Epitaxial Technologies, Inc.
In addition to offering a foundry service to grow wafers to customer specifications, Epitaxial Technologies is developing plans to produce new wafer products such as multi-wavelength detector wafers, InAs-channel FET wafers and wafers for Hall sensors.

These wafer products enable significant performance which include the capability of sensor chips to simultaneously respond to more than one wavelength of optical radiation.

They also enable ultra low noise amplifiers for automotive sensors and low cost, high performance sensors for non-contact speed control in automobiles, VCR, compact disk players and a wide variety of industrial equipment and home applications. Epitaxial Technologies has demonstrated prototypes of these new wafer products.

Epitaxial Technologies Receives National Honor
Baltimore, MD -- Epitaxial Technologies, Inc, a client of the High Technology Business Incubator at University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC), was named winner of the 1998 Incubator Microenterprise Client of the Year Award presented by the National Business Incubation (NBIA) Association at 12th International Conference on Business Incubation. With over 800 members, NBIA is the largest association of incubators in the world.

An independent panel composed of NBIA members rated the nominees for Client of the Year in five categories: employment growth, sales growth, unique product and/or service, how the incubator helped with company success and firm accomplishments. The judges were also asked to weigh the success in the marketplace, ability to overcome obstacles, superior technological innovations and community service.
