On my Acer computer which has Windows 98 (Chinese traditional edition) I am able to input Chinese text (fantizi) using an IME add-on, called (translated from the Chinese) "Microsoft new zhuyin input method 98."

However, on my other computer, with Windows XP Professional edition OS, the only downloadable IME is "IME (Taiwan)," which only permits bo-po-mo-fo input. My keyboard is a standard English one without zhuyin fuhao marked keys. So I want to input text using pinyin, for traditional characters.

When I tried to download "Microsoft new zhuyin input method 98" on my Win XP Prof computer, I got a download error message saying "Download file cannot be saved. Error: the process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process."

The Microsoft Taiwan web site does not say this downloadable add-on can be used with Win XP Prof edition, and, according to the Chinese explanation, it appears to be compatible only up to Win 2000. So perhaps this is the root of the problem.

Any suggestions on where I can get a downloadable Chinese traditional character input method, using pinyin, for Win XP Prof edition, preferably for free?
