New Ways To Play Night Agenda

Running Brook Elementary School

ACTIVITIES:

(Quiet): Story-telling - Team area

Kim - Needs 1-3 volunteers with her)

(Active): Blocks, Legos Media Center

Linda, Betty, Beth to bring blocks, wood, Duplo, large red bricks, and Legos plus floor mars for roads - building a peaceful town

(Needs 1-3 volunteers)

(Active): Parachute Gym

(Needs 1-3 adults, plus 1-3 high schoolers

(Active): Jump rope - Kangaroo Kids Gym

(Joanie)

(Crafts): Cafeteria

  • Play Dough (we'll make and provide) (needs 1-3 volunteers)

  • Face Painting (we'll provide stencil; brushes, paints) (need 4-6 volunteers)

  • Egg carton animals (school to collect egg cartons - we provide cotton balls and markers) (need 3-4 volunteers)

  • Kazoos - (school to collect toilet paper rolls, We provide rubber bands, wax paper, markers (need 3-4 volunteers)

  • Peace Quilt - squares to be decorated. We provide squares, fabric markers (need 3-4 volunteers)

Registration Desk in lobby (need 3-5 volunteers). Hand out bags with family gift, recipe for clay dough etc.

We will need to be there about 5-5:30 to help set up -possibility of having a pizza supper with staff - who to buy pizza?

CUCC provides:

  • 1 family gift per family unit - set of four card - Betty
  • Plastic bags to put in games, papers, crafts made - Joanie
  • Parachute and booklet to use with it - Betty
  • Certificates for violent toys turned in/peace certificates- Linda
  • Door prizes - Linda, Merle, Sue, Linda, Joanie, Betty, Beth
  • Material for peace squares - Shirley
  • Button badges for staff for week of peace - Merle
  • Craft items where listed - Beth, Sue
  • Material to be sent borne - Merle, Beth

School provides:

  • PTA help in various station areas, i.e. face painting crafts, etc.
  • Staff helps with registration, timing, activity rotation, advertising,
  • Possible help with parachute, play stations, monitor traffic control and doors and scheduling
  • Organize door prize numbers to be given out
  • Amy and Jason will help set up and assign people and help with overall supervision. Sue is also available.
  • School will help collect egg cartons, toilet paper rolls
  • School will provide glue.
