Florence H. Abel, A.C.S.W., L.C.S.W-C., B.C.D.
Florence Abel received a M.S.W. from the University of Maryland School of Social Work. She has been a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers
(ACSW) since 1974, is a Licensed Certified Social Worker and a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work. She is a charter member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. Florence has worked in hospitals and public agencies and has worked more than 20 years in private practice. She is one of the founders of Christian Counseling Associates, Inc. Her specialties include anxiety issues, obsessive compulsive issues, sexual adjustment, post traumatic stress disorder and issues of grief and loss. She also provides supervision and leads seminars in peer counseling.
Kirk Griffith , Ph.D.
Kirk Griffith is a licensed psychologist who has worked with children, adolescents, adults and couples in a variety of settings, including hospitals, residential treatment facilities, and private practice. In addition to individual, couple and family psychotherapy, he performs psychological evaluations for school age children and adolescents to identify educational needs including those related to ADHD, learning disabilities, and emotional problems.
Christopher W. Hartsock, M.A., L.G.P.C.
Chris Hartsock holds a Master's degree in Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary and is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor. His Bachelor's degree includes majors in both Human Resources Management and Finance and is from the University of Maryland. He does individual, group, marriage and family therapy, and his specialties include homosexuality and sexual identity; sexual addiction and abuse; and mood disorders. He holds membership in the Christian Association for Psychological Studies, the American Counseling Association, and the National Association for Reparative Therapy of Male Homosexuality (NARTH). Chris also teaches parenting classes and does individual educational assessment for private schools.
Howard Hines, Ph.D
Howard Hines is a licensed psychologist whose experience includes work in hospital settings, university settings, correctional settings, private practice, group home settings, and team supervision. He does psychological assessment and individual, couple and group psychotherapy with adolescents and adults, and he provides professional supervision for some other staff members of Christian Counseling Associates. His specialty areas include couple counseling, family therapy, depressive disorders, acute psychotic disorders, and adolescent behavior problems.
Greg W. Johnson, M.A.T.S., L.C.P.C.
Greg is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the State of Maryland. He is also certified by the American Board of Medical Psychotherapists and Psychodiagnosticians, the National Board for Certified Counselors, and the National Institute of Sports Professionals. Greg's undergraduate degree is from Gordon College and his Master's degree is from Gordon-Conwell Seminary. His focus is on the integration of faith in counseling, primarily with long-term adult clients, adolescents, and children above age 7.
Janet E. MacFarlane, M.S.W., L.C.S.W.-C.
Janet MacFarlane earned her Master's degree and completed a post-Master's certificate in Trauma treatment from the University of Maryland in Baltimore, and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Her Bachelor's degree is from Ohio State University. She works with children 5-12, teens 12-19, and adults. She has worked in the inner city, in hospital settings, in public school systems, and as a YWAM missionary working with refugees in Hong Kong. She provides activity therapy for children and provides psychotherapy for adolescents and adults, specializing in trauma treatment; previous sexual abuse; panic and other anxiety disorders; abandonment and attachment issues; grief; depression; and women's issues. Janet sees her work as providing a safe environment so that inner fears can be shared and issues resolved with a new awareness and with God's guidance.
Andrea S. Morris, Ph.D., L.C.P.C., N.C.C.
Andrea Morris earned her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the
Union Institute and University, and is a Licensed Clinical Professional
Counselor. Andrea's bachelor's degree is from Brandeis University, in
Psychology and African-American Studies. She has studied in Jerusalem. Her
professional experiences include work in an outpatient trauma-based
psychiatric day hospital unit, an outpatient substance abuse treatment
center, an addictions unit in a correctional treatment center, counseling
through agencies, and as a trauma specialist. She does individual, marriage, family and group counseling and teaches classes in parenting of both young children and adolescents. Andrea is knowledgeable about traumatic issues regarding men and women as well as their spiritual and relationship issues.
Joe C. Pacifico, M.B.A., M.S., L.C.P.C.
Joe Pacifico holds a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from Loyola College of Maryland. Joe also has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Marryland. He is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor,
specializing in family and marriage counseling, including
premarital counseling. He also offers a unique approach to understanding
and dealing with anger. He has taught classes dealing with self-esteem and
grief/loss issues.
Troy Parrish, M.A., L.C.P.C
Troy Parrish holds a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology and is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. His professional experience includes work in inpatient psychiatric units, the treatment of juvenile offenders in a residential setting, and counseling through churches and other agencies. He does individual, marriage and family counseling. He specializes in child and adolescent issues, parenting skills and couple issues.
Grace Reamer, M.A.
Grace H. Reamer received a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology
from Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA. Her professional experience
includes work in marriage and family - including premarital - counseling.
She does individual counseling and specializes in women's issues, including
depression, domestic and sexual abuse, relationships, anxiety and parenting.
She has worked at a crisis hotline and has experience in crisis, grief and
loss. Grace sees her emphasis as assisting clients to use their own inner
strengths, striving to reach for their goals using skills and talents to the greatest extent, as God intended.
Janice W. Sams, M.S.W., L.C.S.W.-C.
Janice received her Master of Social Work degree from Adelphi University in New York in 1973. She has an in-depth background as a psychotherapist, having worked in the inner-city, urban and suburban locations, in medical and psychiatric hospitals, private group practice, community-based clinics and government Mental Health settings. In addition, she has served as a consultant to Head Start, and as a volunteer in the Public School System. Janice serves individuals, couples and families and is knowledgeable of women's spiritual and relationship issues, as well as diverse emotional and mental disorders.
Kenneth Williams, M.A., L.C.P.C., Executive Director
Kenneth Williams has worked in a public school system and has served on the staff of the Institute of Marriage and Family Relations. His Master's degree is from the University of Maryland and his undergraduate degree is from Wheaton College. He is licensed in Maryland as a Clinical Professional Counselor. He teaches classes and seminars in parenting and Couple Communication, and has done individual, marriage and family counseling since 1978. He works with adults, adolescents, couples and families. He is president, Executive Director, and one of the founders of Christian Counseling Associates. He maintains membership in the Christian Association for Psychological Studies, of which he is a former International President and a current Eastern region Board member.
