Employment

Food & Employment - D.C. Central Kitchen
This program allows motivated persons to gain knowledge and hands-on experience which will assist them in their efforts to obtain substantive employment in the food service industry.

D.C. Central Kitchen has received food from almost 1,000 donors, and these donations now total more than 15 tons of food each month.  All donations are brought back to the D.C. Central Kitchen so they can be effectively prepared, or repackaged, and sent out as wholesome, nutritious, and balanced meals.

Volunteers are an integral part of the D.C. Central Kitchen's operations.  Meals are prepared 7 days a week, and volunteers may help out with cooking, chopping, and food pick-up and drop-offs.  With advance notice, large groups can be accommodated.

Employment - Jobs for Homeless People (JHP)
Job training employment program for the disadvantaged, include teaching people how to prepare for going back to work, how to find jobs, and how to keep those jobs.
