MISSION

GWA is an area council that promotes the aims and principles of local Unitarian Universalist congregations by working together to accomplish what we cannot achieve separately.

PURPOSES

Increase public awareness of the Unitarian Universalist movement and our member congregations including advertising and conducting promotional programs in the GWA area,

Receive gifts and bequests, contributions from member congregations, and borrow money to finance GWA approved causes and activities,

Advance and strengthen the Unitarian Universalist movement in the GWA area including:

• Helping congregations attract and retain new members,
• Advising on the location and assisting with the establishment of new congregations,
• Conducting training programs and other activities of mutual benefit,
• Facilitating fellowship among member congregations and inter-congregational activities,

Welcome opportunities for interfaith alliances, and

Address local and national social justice issues either as a council or by facilitating the joint efforts of member congregations.
