Obituary

Pearl Alta Carpenter, daughter of Hattie E. and the late George W. Carpenter, was born July 23, 1895 at Franklin Nebraska. After a lingering illness of six years she passed to her reward on the morning of August 15, 1932, at the age of 37 years and 22 days.

She had lived a faithful member of the Methodist church since the day she united in Franklin 21 years ato, and had been an obedient servant of her Lord and Savior during her whole life and died in the triumph of living faith.

Miss Pearl leaves to mourn her departure her mother, three sisters, Mrs. Mae Mason of Long Island, Kas.; Mrs. Ivan Booker, Omaha; Wilma Carpenter, Edison: also three brothers, Earl, Henry and Kenneth, four nephews and four nieces and many other relatives and friends.

The funeral services were conducted from the home Wednesday afternoon, August 17. Scripture lesson and talk was based on John 14:19. "Because I live shall ye live also." (rest of obituary missing)


Death of Pearl Carpenter

Miss Pearl Carpenter, niece of Charles Chitwood of Franklin, died at a santiarium at Hastings Monday August 15, aged about 33 years. The remains were taken to the home of her mother, Mrs. G. W. Carpenter at Edison, Nebr., where funeral services were held Wednesday, and then brought here for interment in the family plot in Greenwood cemetery, a short service at the grave being held by an Oxford minister.

Miss Carpenter is survived by her mother, Mrs. G. W. Carpenter, three sisters, Mrs. Mae Mason of Long Island, Kas; Mrs. Thelma Booker of Omaha, and Miss Wilma at home. Also three brothers, her twin brother, Earl, at home, and Henry and Kenneth, who live in the Edison community. Sentinel readers will remember the death of the father, G. W. Carpenter, who was killed in a fall from a cherry tree at Edison a little more than a year ago. The deceased was born on the old Chitwood place north of Macon, where the family lived unitl they moved to Edison fifteen years ago. Some of the relatives live at Hildreth. [Edison Sentinel?]
