Art Carpenter, Hildreth, Laid to Rest
Arthur Washington Carpenter, son of George and June Carpenter was born June 29, 1881 at Buckingham, Kanokee county, Ill. and departed this life after a short illness, on Wednesday, January 4 at the age of 68 years, six months and four days.
He spent the early part of his life in Illinois with the exception of a few years when he , with his parents and family, lived on a farm three miles northeast of Hildreth.
He was married to Lillie Davis on February 17, 1904 at Hildreth. They resided at Buckingham, Ill. until 1907, when they came back t Hildreth, where they had lived since that time. Four children were born to this union. Aura, Mildred, Lola and Wilbur.
His father and mother and four brothers preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Lillie and four children, Mrs. Shirley Harmon of Bend, Ore., Mrs. Edgar Hollenberger of Benkelman, Mrs. Ralph Schou of Portland, Ore., and Wilbur Carpenter of Tulsa, Okla. Five grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive.
